Helping in School
| |
Parents and
Volunteers
Parents/carers and volunteers help in many ways in the school.
They hear readers, cook with groups of children, help with the
library and
sports
clubs, with projects and visits outside the school, give talks
to the school about special enthusiasms and interests and help
out whenever we have special events at the school. All
parents/carers and volunteers in school have a full Criminal
Records Bureau (CRB) check.
Underlying all forms of co-operation between home and school is
the principle that both are united in sharing the same concern
for the education and all-round well-being of the children.
Your support for your child and your interest in the school are
vital to your child's education. We at Darell hope that you will
understand what we are trying to achieve and why, and hope that
you will support the efforts of the staff. In turn, the school
will help support parents/carers in any way we can.
You will be asked to sign a formal Home-School Agreement drawn
up by governors, staff, parents/carers and children. This is
required by law and, though the agreement has no legal status,
is an assertion of the importance of co-operation between home
and school.
You will be invited to the school regularly to hear how your
child is progressing and perhaps how you can best help. We hope
that you will feel that school is a friendly place where you are
welcome. A member of staff will always see you by reasonable
arrangement. The school will contact you promptly if any problem
arises with your child. You will be fully informed about the
school's approaches, its rules and the reasons for them. We hope
that you will make time to come to meetings and the activities
for parents/carers.
We are an open school and are happy to be approached at any
point with an enquiry or concern regarding your child. |
