Religious Education contributes to the spiritual, moral,
social, cultural and intellectual development of all our
pupils both as individuals and as members of
society.
Our aim is to help all pupils to achieve knowledge and
understanding of religious beliefs, insights and values
of Christianity and other world faiths. This helps
children to learn to respect those who hold different
beliefs from their own and contributes to community
cohesion.
An important part of the Religious Education of the
children takes place in assemblies. We observe the main
Christian festivals such as Easter, Christmas and the
harvest as well as celebrating festivals from other
cultures and religions such as Divali, Eid and Chinese
New Year. We enjoy a sense of being together, of sharing
in our achievements and joining in times of prayer and
of quiet reflection. |
