Curriculum: PE

	We offer a broad choice of physical activities, aiming to promote the children's own physical development. We aim to teach basic skills and also to teach children to appreciate skilful and creative performances across a range of activities such as games, dance, athletics, gymnastics and swimming. Taking part in physical activities helps the children to learn to develop personal qualities such as fairness, commitment and enthusiasm. Children learn to strive to achieve their personal best in games activities. Our outdoor areas, including a "Multi Use Games Area", is heavily used for sports and is supplemented by hall use converting into a gymnasium. We also use the North Sheen recreation ground, only a short walk from the school, for team games, sports and athletics. We have a school sports day for all children. We take part in the track and field events of borough competitive sports where Darell is often very successful. There are a range of after school and lunchtime clubs available for the children to attend. Our football and netball teams regularly play friendly and league matches with neighbouring schools. We hold the nationally awarded ActiveMark.
